| "I was going over the Mar/Apr-2004
Inspectioneering journal. It is very ironic that there was a section on IR
(infrared monitoring). We are experiencing the exact same issue here with
our XXX heater. In fact, some of the IR images presented in the paper are
almost identical to ours, with the spalled external scale. We actually
attempted to lightly scrape the OD of our tubes with a lance and removed
some of the external OD deposits (flue gas deposits only) and I
immediately saw a tube temp. reduction of approximately xxx F. Articles like this are a big help in our line of work! All the best" Brian van Klaveren, Petro-Canada Refinery "Bravo, on recent articles on Inspection Database management systems! The value of shared experiences like these is tremendous!," James Fortune, DuPont Corporation "An IJ article entitled, "Piping Inspection - Improving Thickness Data Taking Accuracy" prompted valuable discussion here. It helped us make the right decision on a very important matter", Mark Badrick, Bahrain Petroleum Company "Just a note to let you know how valuable the Inspectioneering Journal is to us. We particularly like the annual index summary, calendar event section, and articles written by our peers who talk the same language. The journal is easy to read and it has even more value now that it is in digital format. We find that it is a very useful tool keeping us abreast of new and improved technology on the market for inspection activities. Keep up the good work..", Mike Badeen, Phillips 66 Company |
